Islands of Siankaba

Islands of Siankaba is located on the Zambezi River, about 35km from Livingstone town. Our friends Brett and Claire manage the lodge so I may be somewhat bias, however I think that the photos really do speak for themselves when I say that Islands of Siankaba is amazing!

Welcome drink- Yum!!
The view from our table at lunch. Pretty nice hey?!

The rooms are tented chalets, set on the banks of the river amongst the tree canopy and have a gorgeous view looking out.

Our chalet
The chalets are right on the river in the tree canopy
The bed was super comfy and I loved the shower and bath, especially after coming from Lusaka and our awesome bucket bath!

Huge bed...
...and very comfy too :-)
Nice bathroom with awesome bath
Personalised welcome
The food is a highlight of the lodge. We arrived to a scrumptious platter of bream, quiche, garden salad and beetroot.

Our lunch on arrival: Bream, quiche, salad and beetroot
For dinner we had four courses, including a crocodile entrée which unfortunately I forgot to get a photo of, followed be a fresh sorbet (also missing a photo). We then moved to the main, a beef roast, although the highlight for me was the carrots which were so sweet.

The lodge at night; unfortunately my photo doesn't really capture how pretty it looks
Main course: Roast beef
However it was dessert that won the day for me! Isn’t the presentation cool?! That’s mocha ice-cream in the cup, btw!

Dessert: Loving the presentation!
Unfortunately we had only one night there as we needed to get back to Lusaka the following day, but still enough time to relax, read, have a few quiet drinks and enjoy the magnificent rooms and beautiful surroundings.

Relaxation on the river
Now that's what I'm talking about!
Mike shaving. I guess being at Siankaba was a special
occasion  :-p
To finish this post up I’ll show a few more pictures of the lodge and its surrounds. Amazing job Brett and Claire, not a beat missed! Keep up the good work!

And this is what we woke up to in the morning
The walk back to the main lodge in the morning
Looking out at the Zambezi River
A nice place to relax
Doesn't it look peaceful?
Breakfast table for two
I loved that we each got our own plunger of coffee, a very nice touch!
Breakfast starter: Muesli and yoghurt
Plenty of places to sit and read a book
Islands of Siankaba pool: Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to use it but it does
look nice
